Year 7 & 8 Boys Futsal Tournament - District Winners!

We took a team of 6 Year 7&8 boys over to Manor for their Futsal tournament on Tuesday afternoon.

The boys had not had much experience of Futsal but we went over the rules and had some practice beforehand to get used to the weighted ball.

We went into the first game against Manor optimistic but also encouraging the students to just enjoy themselves. We won the fixture 2-1 with goals from Kien and Leo. Leo was a fantastic all rounder, the ball almost stuck to his feet and him and Kien linked up well for their goals.

Callum pulled off some fantastic saves to keep us in it early on and nothing got past Alfie in defence. Off to a great start we went into the next game positive and got another win against Huxlow with a lovely goal from Franc.

The third match was a convincing one with a 2-0 win against Wrenn with goals again from Franc and Kien. We had actually mathematically already won the tournament so the last game we switched the team around a little and lost with an unlucky goal. There were some close efforts from Leo and Finlay too though. Despite the final loss we came out on top winning the whole tournament overall!

We progress onto the next round at County level. We were extremely proud of the boys, they played excellently and we even had comments from other staff on their performance as well as their outstanding conduct.

Well done boys!
