Today we had the privilege of being joined by 10 veterans for an assembly to honour the armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.
Our Head Boy Cameron gave a reading of ‘The Soldier’ by Rupert Brooke, followed by Tiana our Head girl, reading ‘In Flanders Fields’ by Lt. Colonel John McCrae. We then listened to The Last Post and had our 2 minutes silence followed by a reading by Amy-Lee in Y9 of ‘For the Fallen’ by Laruence Binyon.
Our students were respectful throughout the whole assembly and filled us with pride.
Team Rushden are fortunate to be working closely with the local police force and are pleased to inform you that both PC Steven Clark and PCSO Stephanie Bacon will be visiting and based within the school on a weekly basis.
PC Steven Clark says; I have been with NORTHANTS POLICE since 2004 working on the response team up until 2017 when I joined the Neighbourhood team at Rushden. I have always covered Wellingborough and East Northamptonshire so know the area well. I am in the school to help, guide, support pupils and staff but fundamentally I am a police officer.
PCSO Stephanie Bacon says; I am your local PCSO and point of contact for Rushden Academy. I have been a PCSO for almost 8 years now and I have been working from Rushden for the last 2 years. I am very much looking forward to being able to come into Rushden Academy and being there to support the students, staff and parents.
