These aims remain at the heart of our Teaching and Learning approach so that we continue to offer a world class education to all learners. We remain committed to continual improvement and edcuational excellence; striving for innovative and exciting teaching and learning every hour of every day.

As part of our approach to ongoing improvement, we utilise 8 key teaching and learning principles. We call these our Teaching and Learning Foundations. Based on research from Coe et al. (2014) What Makes Great Teaching, and Rosenshine (2012) Principles of Instruction, we believe that these key principles are what make up transformative practice. Our ongoing focus on these 8 areas are what ensures that teaching at Rushden Academy engages, challenges, and deepens learners' understanding at every level so that all learners make outstanding progress.
