Dear Families,
As we reach the conclusion of the Autumn term, it is important to reflect on the significant progress our students have made since September.
Year 11 students have been working diligently in lessons following their mock exams, completing targeted work to bridge any identified gaps in learning. This is a core part of our curriculum strategy; it ensures our teachers respond quickly and effectively to the results of key assessments. This approach has also been applied across all other year groups following their recent assessments, ensuring every student is supported in their academic journey.
Reports
You should have now received your child’s report via MCAS. To assist you in interpreting the data, a guidance video has been shared on our social media platforms. We hope you find this a useful tool in discussing your child's progress at home.
Rewards
It has been a celebratory final week of term. On Wednesday, we held our whole-school Virtual Prize Draw to recognise students with exemplary attendance and behaviour. Prizes ranged from gift cards to GHD hair straighteners - and even a lava lamp at the specific request of our Student Voice! On Friday, the atmosphere remained high as students attended rewards assemblies led by their Heads of Year and supported by form tutors.
Ethos
Our Ethos team continues to do incredible work within our community. This week, they spread festive cheer among our staff with small gifts of appreciation. The team has also been working closely with local families, delivering Christmas hampers to those in need of additional support. We have received heart-warming feedback and are incredibly grateful for the donations and support that made these gifts possible.
PTFA
On Thursday, the PTFA, with the fantastic support of the Rushden Round Table, completed their annual Sleigh Run. This event raised vital funds for our Duke of Edinburgh programme. We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported the event, and particularly the community of Stanwick for their generous contributions.
Panto
For those who attended our Panto, we hope you had a wonderful evening. We continue to be blown away by the immense talent of our students, and we are extremely grateful for the tireless effort given by the Performing Arts team to produce such a high-quality production. We look forward to seeing what the department has in store for 2026!
Staff Farewells
We would like to send our very best wishes to Mrs. Willmott, Ms. Trowbridge, and Mr. Noblett, who leave us this term. We thank them for their service to the school and wish them every success in their future endeavours.
Looking Ahead to 2026
A reminder that school reopens for students on Tuesday, 6th January 2026.
Upon our return, we will be refocusing on our uniform expectations to ensure all students start the new year with a high standard of professional pride. This is a routine we will continue at the start of each half-term. Please ensure your child returns in the correct uniform; for those needing any assistance, we have a stock of spare items available to help.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued partnership. It is a privilege to lead such an amazing school with a team of staff who consistently go above and beyond for our community.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We hope you enjoy quality time with your loved ones and look forward to welcoming everyone back in January!
Yours sincerely,
Mr. J. Firth
Principal
