Dear Families,
Another week has passed at Rushden Academy, and it has been wonderful to see so many exciting projects taking place.
B Block Update
Firstly, I wanted to provide a short update on the work completed in B Block last weekend. Contractors prepared one of our classrooms to allow engineers and architects to begin designing necessary repairs. As you can see in the photo below, this work has exposed the building's structural frame; consequently, this classroom is currently unavailable for teaching.
Students have been re-roomed across the block and the wider school site. We have worked hard to ensure consistency by providing students with the same designated classroom for their lessons each week. To see more of the progress, please view the short video posted on our social media channels.

Art Project
On Monday, we welcomed a visiting artist to work with our Year 10 and 11 students on a graffiti project. Students explored the topic of "toxic masculinity," producing some excellent artwork that will be displayed in the coming weeks. Following the exhibition, students' work will be returned to them. We look forward to showcasing these pieces with you very soon.
Ethos Project
This week, KS3 students participated in the GSUS Live project - an interactive digital lesson that helps students explore themes of fear, forgiveness, and rejection. Our students truly engaged with the sessions, and we have received some wonderful feedback! We are grateful to the Grace Foundation and our amazing Ethos team for their continued support in providing these incredible opportunities.
PTFA
We are thrilled to announce that the PTFA has been awarded a whopping £710.98 from the Rushden Round Table, following their fundraising adventures with Santa before Christmas. This money will be used to support our Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) scheme by funding new equipment for our participants.
If your child is interested in taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, please encourage them to speak with Mrs. Dunn (Science) or Mr. Henson (English).

We hope you all have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to seeing all students on Monday!
Yours sincerely,
Mr. J. Firth
Principal
