Dear Families,
Thank you so much for your feedback regarding our video newsletter. We are delighted it has been so well received and will continue to produce these updates weekly, alongside this electronic version.
As it is the final week of the month, this is our "Bumper Edition." This version includes more updates from across the school, as well as information on local events and opportunities for our students. Please do take a moment to see what has been shared this month!
Mobile Phones Update
Following Monday's government announcement regarding phone-free schools, we will continue to strictly apply our “See it, Hear it, Lose it” policy. We are grateful for your ongoing support in reminding students of these expectations.
To help our students stay focused, we would appreciate your support with the following:
- Lunch Funds: Please ensure your child has sufficient funds on their account. We often have students asking to contact home because they are unable to purchase food.
- Direct Contact: Please refrain from contacting your child directly during school hours. We are re-introducing student runners to deliver important messages across the school.
- Official Channels: If you need to reach your child urgently, please contact the school office or email .
Year 9 Progress Evening
This takes place next Thursday in the Main Hall and Sixth Form Common Room. Please check the maps provided at sign-in to locate specific teachers. Appointments are now live via MCAS (My Child At School); please ensure you have booked your slots to discuss your child’s progress directly with their teachers.
Year 11 Exams
Our Performing Arts students (Dance and Drama) begin their exams next week. We understand this can be an anxious time. We encourage all students to maintain a healthy diet, get plenty of sleep, and find a balance between revision and relaxation. If you have concerns about your child’s wellbeing, please contact the school so we can provide additional support.
Year 9 Young Green Briton Event
Our Year 9s participated in an exciting project this week, developing eco-friendly solutions to save energy and protect the environment. The students presented some truly innovative ideas! A special well done to Freddie and Tyler, who were commended by our visitors for their exceptional presentation skills and creativity.
On a similar note, our Eco-Team has been busy monitoring energy use in classrooms this week. It has been fantastic to see their enthusiasm as they hold staff accountable for their carbon footprint—reminding us all to do our part!
Ethos Coffee Morning
Our Ethos Team is hosting a coffee morning for parents on 5th February (9:00 am – 10:30 am). This is a wonderful opportunity to meet Jenni, our Family Support Worker. Please report to reception on arrival and someone will meet you there. For more information, feel free to contact Jenni at .
We hope you have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing all students on Monday morning!
Yours sincerely,
Mr J Firth
