Thank you for visiting!

I am delighted to welcome you to our rapidly improving school, Rushden Academy. We are part of a highly successful trust called Tove Learning Trust (TLT) and have excellent collaborative networks across the trust. Staff really enjoy working at Rushden Academy and our high staff retention figures demonstrate this fully.

Team Rushden are on the cusp of something great, our results are rapidly improving and our intake numbers are increasing. Visitors are impressed when they visit our school commenting on the strong Team Rushden values permeating across all aspects of school life. We have built a culture where together, students and staff are united in transforming our school.

We are proud of our achievements to date and regularly communicate this widely. There is a strong drive to excel in lessons and to behave respectfully towards each other and our community. We are proud of the curriculum that we have on offer, not only does it deliver the content pupils need to excel in today’s society but it also develops their imaginations.

Our sixth form provision, The East Northamptonshire College (TENC), is shared with two local secondary schools, sharing our expertise not only at KS5 but also at KS4 with cross moderation and quality assurance systems. We also have an outstanding nursery onsite, which is open term-time only and many of our staff use this excellent provision for their children.

Rushden Academy

A productive half term with lots taking place and many plans in the pipeline. I think staff and pupils are ready for this break, but I am also completely aware that many will continue to work throughout, thank you. But do find time to re-charge as we come back to another busy half-term.

Year 11

Teachers have been working on AP1 improvements with pupils and checking for progress. Once this data is generated on 3/11, teachers will be providing 2 specific areas that pupils need to improve. This will be shared with parents so that you are aware of the next steps. We have also ordered the revision guides.

Monday evening was a great success and this was reflected beautifully in the feedback we received, Team Rushden pupils were brilliant and I am looking forward to welcoming on board new y6’s into 7 this year. Head Girl, Connie, Deputy Head Boy, Thuso and 4 year 7 pupils Tilly Bacon, Cody Beecher, Ruby McElligott and Robert Toderasc gave incredible speeches, they were articulate, confident and informative. The school was buzzing and everyone worked really hard to make sure we delivered our best. I am very proud of how far we have come, so are the pupils and we would warmly welcome any visitor into our school to show what we do on a daily basis. It is calm, it is industrious and we are determined to be the best.

Our recent Ofsted report highlighted the following:

 Pupils say that senior leaders are everywhere and staff feel utterly supported in all that they do.

 Staff morale is high

 The ‘Team Rushden’ ethos permeates through all aspects of the school.

 Pupils and staff feel that Rushden Academy is ‘on the up’.

 There is a clear sense of collaboration and determination to improve further.

 The leadership of the quality of teaching, learning and assessment is strong.

 Pupils recognise the positive atmosphere that has been created and understand the importance of behaving well. As one pupil said, ‘We’re here to learn.’

 Pupils say that bullying is rare and they remain confident that staff would deal with it swiftly and effectively should it occur.

 Far greater emphasis is now placed on celebrating success. Pupils report a sense of ‘healthy competition’ and say that school is more enjoyable as a result.
