Dear Parent/Carer
You can update your information electronically with SIMS Parent (Lite) a simple way to update your data securely at any point during the academic year. It will be made available to parents/carers who have parental responsibility and live at the same address as the student. SIMS Parent Lite can be accessed via PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone http://www.simsparent.co.uk. The SIMS Parent App can be downloaded for free from the Apple or Play store, just search for SIMS Parent. The secure browser allows you to electronically review and request changes to the data held on you and your children.
If you have not already used the SIMS Parent App:
- An activation email from will be sent to your registered email address within the next 24 hours. Simply click on the link from your tablet, smartphone or PC to activate your account. The link will expire after 14 days if not used. You can sign in with your own personal Office 365/Microsoft/Hotmail, Twitter, Facebook or Google/Gmail account. The only one that will not work is the SIMS ID option, which may appear above the Twitter icon.
- The registration screen will then be shown. The Invitation Code will automatically be populated if you clicked on the link in your invitation. If it is not, copy and paste the code and click register.
- You will be prompted to answer a date of birth security question. This is for security purposes only and will not be used in the SIMS Parent system.
- Click the register button to continue. Your account will be set up. This may take some time.
- Click on the account you used to register. You will not be asked to enter your password again. The SIMS Parent Lite home screen will be displayed. If it doesn’t load, check you are on https://www.sims-parent.co.uk/.
- You will see a named tile for each of your children.
- Click on the tile for the child you wish to check/amend details for. Click through all sections to check the detail is accurate and up to date. Key in any amendments required, save and submit.
- If all details are correct click the ‘confirm no changes’ button shown in green at the bottom of the screen.
- Once registered you can access SIMS Parent from http://www.simsparent.co.uk or from the App if you have downloaded this to your smartphone from the Apple or Play store.

More information on how to update your data
1. Once you have registered to use SIMS Parent you can either make changes through your browser: www.sims-parent.co.uk or via the App for iOS and Android if you prefer.
2. Once logged in, your screen will show a named tile for each of your children.
3. Click on the tile for the student you wish to check/amend details for. You will be able to check student detail, contact information, dietary, medical and travel information. Click through all sections to check that the detail held is accurate and up to date. Make any updates required, click save and submit.
Address – this is your child’s home address.
Telephone and Email – this is your child’s home number. Please DO NOT add an email address for your child here.
Medical Details – there is a drop-down list of medical practices and conditions. You can add a new one if your child’s details are different.
Contacts - Please ensure the contact’s information is accurate and up to date. You will be able to see your own contact information, address, telephone and email and that of your third-party contacts.
If you do not live at the same address as the other parent/carer with parental responsibility, you will only be able to see name, parental responsibility status and contact priority status for them. You will be able to see all details for any 3rd party contacts, e.g. relative, previously provided and be able to edit these. 4. If all details held are correct click the ‘confirm no changes’ button shown in green at the bottom of the screen. Once you click ‘submit changes’ or ‘confirm no changes’ the information will be sent to school to approve. You will not be able to make any further changes via SIMS Parent (Lite) until the changes have been approved at school.
5. Updates can be made at any point throughout the school year. An annual reminder will be sent to parents to carry out a review of the details held.
6. Click in the school details tile to show current term dates.
7. If you have students attending different schools that use SIMS Parent it is possible to use the same login. Once signed in, there will be a drop-down menu located on the school name. Choose the school required and the relevant student.
Please remember to confirm your changes once you have updated your details or confirm that no changes are required.
