Rushden Academy’s Religious Education curriculum is academically challenging and personally inspiring; it is designed to equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and awareness for life in twenty first century Britain, and to develop their religious literacy. From year 7, pupils learn about Christianity and other major religions, understanding and reflecting on key religious beliefs as well as on important ethical and philosophical issues. An understanding of religion in the local context will develop pupils’ sense of belonging and community, whilst also nurturing a respect for diversity which will prepare them for further education, employment and their wider lives within our modern, multicultural society.
