Academy News Stories

Message From the Principal 10.07.2026

Dear Families,

Work on the construction of our temporary village has officially started! We have welcomed the contractors on site, and students have watched a number of diggers and other heavy machinery arrive in preparation for the installation of our temporary classrooms.

We are incredibly grateful to our colleagues at Prince William School, who kindly showed us around their own temporary classrooms on Friday morning. This visit allowed us to learn from their experiences and ensure everything is perfectly planned for when our students return in September.

Drone Photography Appeal: If you or someone you know owns a camera drone, we would love to hear from you! We are hoping to capture some aerial footage of the ongoing works. Please contact the school office if you are able to assist us.

Weather & Last Day Schedule

With the warm weather set to continue into next week, students may continue to wear their school PE kits if they choose.

We are looking forward to ending the term with our rescheduled Sports Day! As a reminder, the final day of term will be a half day, with students leaving school at 1 PM.

Need extended supervision? If you require your child to be supervised until 3:00pm on the final day, please contact the school office as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements.

School Production: Our House

Don’t forget that our school production of Our House takes place next week! We are incredibly excited to see our talented students perform again, and we cannot wait to see the culmination of all the hard work they have put in over the school year.

Tickets: Available to purchase online. Full booking details can be found on our social media platforms.

Next Week: Team Rushden Fest!

In addition to Sports Day and the school production, we are also gearing up for our end of term rewards celebration, ‘Team Rushden Fest!’ We know this is going to be a fantastic event. Eligible students have already received their invitations, and we look forward to seeing them celebrate with giant inflatables and ice cream!

World Cup Challenge & Monday Mufti

At the start of the World Cup campaign, I set an attendance target for all students, promising a mufti (non-school uniform) day for any year group that achieved 95% attendance.

I am pleased to report that Years 7, 9, and 10 have done an amazing job and successfully secured their reward! While Year 8 fell just a little short of the target overall, so many individual students have maintained perfect attendance that it would be a shame to exclude them from the celebrations.

Therefore, as an end of year and World Cup treat for everyone, we will be having a whole school Mufti Day on Monday 13th July! This will be a brilliant way to kick off the final week of term.

Have a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing all students in their mufti clothes on Monday, ready for line-up at 8:25am!

Yours sincerely,

Mr. J. Firth

Principal
