Dear Parent / Carer
As we wrap up another successful week at #TeamRushden, I’m excited to share some of the highlights and updates with you.
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve successfully recruited a new Food Technology teacher who will be joining us after the Easter holiday. This marks an exciting step forward for the Creative Arts Faculty, and we look forward to welcoming them to our team.
Our Ethos Leader, Mr. Noblett, delivered inspiring assemblies this week focusing on Martin Luther King Day. He highlighted Dr. King’s incredible legacy of peaceful resistance and the lasting change it can create. Students were reminded of the powerful message: “The time is always right to do what is right”.
On Tuesday, Year 9 students participated in a special day centered on Building Healthy Relationships. The day began with a thought-provoking performance by an external theatre group and was followed by interactive workshops led by guest speakers. Feedback from our guests was overwhelmingly positive, with students demonstrating exceptional engagement and maturity. Well done, Year 9!
After school on Tuesday, Miss. Burrows, Mrs. Dunn, Mrs. Brainwood, and student volunteers, hosted an information evening for parents and students about the Duke of Edinburgh Award. This exciting program helps students develop essential life skills, build confidence, and grow personally. Students interested in participating are encouraged to speak with Miss. Burrows for more details.
A big thank-you to the parents of Year 11 students for attending last night’s Progress Evening. This event provided valuable guidance for students as they prepare for their upcoming BTEC and GCSE exams.
To support our students further, we are reintroducing the Passport to Prom initiative. By attending a set number of core and non-core subject revision sessions after school (Period 6), students can earn a discount on their Prom ticket. For those not attending Prom, an alternative gift voucher will be offered.
Thank you for your continued support. Wishing you all a restful weekend as we prepare for another week of exciting opportunities!
Yours sincerely,
Mr J Firth
Principal
