All students study either German or French in Year 7 and this continues through until Year 11. At KS3 they will explore the language in order to be able to express themselves confidently. They will develop important literacy skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking through a series of communicative activities and grammar work. We also look at the value of languages in the modern world and answer the question “Why do we have to do a language?”

Assessment

Students are assessed formally 3 times a year in all four skills, and informally throughout the course, for example in weekly vocab tests or presentations.
