Many of our families have been touched by this horrible disease and we want to do our bit into raising money to support the incredible work that Macmillan do.

This year there was an in house faculty competition for the best cake which was judged by Jamie Clarke, Chief Executive of the Tove Learning Trust. He judged the cakes on appearance and taste and the winner was the English department with their doughnut topped cake.

The table was heaving with cake which was soon demolished and we were very touched that the children in the First Friends Nursery made a huge rice krispie cake.

To date we have raised over £180 which could help run the online support service giving emotional and practical support to over 1500 people or go towards the cost of providing a Macmillan nurse.

A huge ‘thanks’ goes to Mrs Kemal for arranging it together 6th Form student Reece Page for their hard work in serving tea, coffee and cake, as well as doing a mountain of washing-up!
