Last week we welcomed the new cohort of Team Rushden for two days of induction. Students spent some time on the first day meeting their form tutor and getting to know everyone in their new form groups. They had a chance to meet our Director of Pastoral Care, Mrs S. Finney who shared lots of important information and gave them an exciting presentation on all the great things students can do at Rushden Academy.

They also spent some time having some taster lessons in different subjects. All students had a taste of Science doing short sessions in Chemistry, Biology and Physics in the afternoon. Other subjects that students had a sample of during the day included Maths, History and French.

On the second day of transition, students started off with a session of PE on the field, had a mixture of taster sessions in subjects including English, Music, ICT, Geography, Dance and Creative Arts. The finale to the two days was a sneak preview of the Performing Arts faculty end of year show, The Addams Family. The show is on next week, be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible!

At break time and lunch, students were able to taste the food on offer in our amazing canteen before going onto the field to burn off some energy and enjoying the great weather.

Across the two days, students also completed several quick quizzes. The information we gather from these quizzes helps our teachers to prepare for when they arrive in September. This helps to ensure that all students make the best start to their journey at Rushden Academy.

We all look forward to welcoming our next cohort to Team Rushden in September. See you all on Wednesday 4th September at 8.30am ready for a prompt start!

Assistant Principal
