Good afternoon

Once again another busy week for Team Rushden, it started with year 9 immunisations on Monday followed by year 10 having immunisations on Wednesday. On Thursday there was a trip to London to see The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. I managed to see this production in Milton Keynes a while back, it really is excellent and it helps you understand and appreciate living with Aspergers syndrome. The author, Mark Haddon, says he wrote this novel about differences, about being an outsider, about seeing the world in a surprising and revealing way. It certainly does help you appreciate differences and celebrate the fact we all have something unique to offer. I am sure our pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed the play and that it gave them lots to consider too.

School was buzzing with y5 pupil visits this week, there were also numerous parent visitors popping in to see what we are up to. I am always proud to show case the team and how we operate on a daily basis. We are doing great things and I know year 11 and year 13 are working incredibly hard to achieve the best results they can. Year 11 girls seem to be stretching ahead of the boys this year, last year it was the opposite way around. So come on chaps there is still time, make sure you have the power hours of intensive focus at home and attend the school Easter revision programme we have on offer.

Do find time to enjoy time together as a family and re-charge ready for the summer term. I look forward to welcoming our pupils back on Wednesday 24th April in the correct uniform and with all the tools required to hit the ground running.

Exciting times ahead

Mrs J Burton
