Good afternoon

We have had a busy, busy week and our pupils have, once again, done us proud. We have had 2 large Ryman Enterprise Challenge Events, set up by Theo Paphitis: https://www.nationalenterprisechallenge.co.uk/. Pupils competed against each other to be selected to represent the school at a national event in London. Photos and winners can be found later in this bulletin.

We also welcomed Year 8 parents and pupils in to school on Thursday evening to discuss GCSE options, the turnout was excellent and it was a thoroughly well organised and enjoyable evening, thank you to all parents who came with their child and supporting them as they made their first major decision about their future.

The clock is ticking and Year 11 and Year 13 are stepping up to meet the demands of their external exams in less than 6 weeks. It is crucial that our pupils take the responsibility now and do the right thing. They have spent a long time in education and need to achieve the qualifications to show for it! Revision is the key to success, ask any successful pupil and they will say exactly that. Practice, practice, practice does make perfection. I hope that Year 11 make the most of the Easter Revision being provided by our dedicated staff and make every effort to attend the extra classes. All students need to sign in at student reception so that we know who is on site.

I would just like to take the opportunity to remind you that we have, along with other local secondary schools, signed up to work with the police to reinforce a zero tolerance to drugs in schools. The police will be bringing into school a drugs dog and they will checking pupils who may have drugs in their possession. If caught there will be sanctions. A letter was placed in the bulletin last week so I hope that you managed to read through this. At this stage we do not know when to expect a visit.

Also to note we have a training day on Tuesday 23rd April so look forward to welcoming pupils back on Wednesday 24th April.

Kind regards

Mrs J Burton
