Good afternoon

A very productive half term, we have:

  • Re-ignited our leadership programme & embarked on several professional development programmes for staff.
  • Been well supported by Tove Learning Trust (TLT) in terms of Human Resources, Finance, Leadership & Management and Teaching & Learning. Each week we have had at least 4 TLT advisors in school supporting Team Rushden.
  • Met with the AIB (Academic Improvement Board) & the chair, Mr Foster is pleased with our progress.
  • Improved attendance figures in comparison to last year.
  • Improved the progress of Year 11, but they must continue to work very hard revising for their GCSEs by accessing GCSEPod, making revision notes and practicing GCSE questions.
  • An intensive Year 11 programme is in place and staff go above and beyond to secure better outcomes for our pupils. Pupils should be attending the period 6 programme daily.
  • Received an immense amount of praise from visitors who think our pupils are very well behaved. We are proud of how they represent Team Rushden.
  • Completed 3 reviews & 2 work scrutiny’s and continue to improve our practice.
  • Secured Aspens as our caterers and they will be here over half term re-branding ready for a launch on Monday 25th February.

Our staff recently completed a questionnaire and unanimously agreed that a strength of this school is that we are a team and we are committed to the core!

Things that we are looking forward to next term include:

  • Increasing support in departments to enhance the learning experience of our most vulnerable pupils.
  • Increasing capacity in the sixth form to boost results and support pupils with a team of assertive mentors and an Assistant Head of Sixt
  • Provide more outdoor seating.
  • Increased the variety of food available in the canteen.
  • Increased opportunities for pupils to sample curriculum options week beginning 4/3.
  • Providing visualizers in every teaching room so we model excellent examples of pupils work.
  • Increased number of tablets for pupils to use.

Together we must ensure that our pupils are smart and do not wear jeans and that they comply with Team Rushden expectations. We also do not accept facial piercings and would appreciate your co-operation with this.

Please do have an enjoyable half term break and we look forward to welcoming the team back on Monday 25th February.
