Due to increased numbers expected this September we are advertising early for Math’s and English teachers.

Did you know that if you have a degree you can actually train in schools to become a teacher and get paid? If you know someone or fancy a change of career, do please get in touch with Mrs Brainwood at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so that we can explain how. I am so pleased that our staff want to stay here, with such a national shortage I am pleased (relieved) that we have strong, specialist teachers here that care.

Year 12 and 13 exams went well this week along with the teaching and learning review in the Humanities department. We have been talking to pupils, looking through their work and observing Humanities lessons. We have observed some superb practice and pupils have been engaged in their lessons and learning well. The art now is to retain this knowledge and like everything in life if you don’t practice it you forget it. It is highly important that our pupils work hard at school and at home, that they get into good habits in order to get a good education. We have high expectations and constantly demonstrate this throughout the day. Even when Team Rushden are leaving the gates we remind them of the need to look smart and be nice.

Not only do our school leaders say farewell to pupils at the end of the day but they are out and about everywhere, between lessons, break and at lunchtime. There is always a buzz around school at lunchtime, I can honestly say that I have never worked in a school where there is so much going on. The library is thriving, the performing arts area, modern foreign languages, art/photography, the inclusion area, the gym, the sports hall, the playgrounds and the canteen area are all busy too. There is so much going on and so many of our teachers are there to help our pupils with their studies. As for the long sunny days when the field is open and our pupils are enjoying the fresh air, playing sports or just sitting and socializing, it is oh so perfect! Right if I have not convinced you that it is the best job in the world then I do not know what would. Think about teaching and encourage your sons/daughters that this is may be a job for them.

Have a good weekend and thank you for your continued support.

Mrs J Burton

Principal
