I like in Music that I have fun whilst learning.

Lucy - Student

I really enjoy music lessons because it’s really fun and I get to show my creative side.

Molly - Student

I find my brass lessons very informative and I understand everything that is being asked.  The music teachers are great and easy to talk to.

Emily - Student

There are lots of extra-curricular activities for music.  Music is well-integrated into other areas of Performing Arts and we always perform in the school shows.  The group of students studying GCSE Music are very close, like a family.  The (instrumental) lessons are extensive and cover many different instruments.

Supporting your Child

Encourage your son/daughter to practise their instrument on a regular basis

Perform with other young musicians. Groups such as the Northamptonshire county ensembles and Saturday music schools are ideal.

Encourage your son/daughter to attend concerts to listen to live music.

Listen to a wide range of music

Provide practise opportunities for keyboard work – access to a keyboard or piano is ideal, but keyboard apps for smartphones and tablets are also suitable.

Take your son/ daughter to listen to live music whenever possible.

Encourage your son/ daughter to support the college productions or attend local performances in the area.

Support your son/daughter if they want to learn to play an instrument. There are many ways of learning from internet tuition to school lessons.
