On Wednesday 19th December the Science Department was joined by John Lupton on behalf of the Sea cadets and Seafarers UK who ran a workshop with selected year 8 students. The students were challenged to work in pairs to create a boat that could hold the most marbles while staying afloat. They enjoyed the task, and the students worked brilliantly creating designs and making their vessels, learning along the way how to work together and practicing their problem solving skills. The winning team from the first session managed 257 marbles. Well done Grace Clarke and Alexsis Farrer. The winning team from the second session managed 310 marbles. Well done to Broady Pickard and Tiarna Moran.
