More Cambridge Success for The East Northamptonshire College as students from Ferrers, Huxlow and Rushden celebrate outstanding A level achievement.

The Ferrers School, Huxlow Science College and Rushden Academy once again celebrate outstanding A level results. Jonathan Giles, Headteacher at The Ferrers School, speaking on behalf of all three Headteachers, said how delighted he was that the hard work of students and staff had been rewarded with such excellent results. “We celebrate the achievements of all our students, and are delighted that all those seeking places at university have been successful, the overwhelming majority at their first choice destination. Our A level pass rate is the highest we have ever achieved and we are particularly proud that we have secured an increased proportion of the very top A* and A grades”.

Students from The East Northamptonshire College have, once again, secured places at the country’s top universities, including Ben Tatman and Sophie Brawn who have both been awarded places at Cambridge. Individuals who have excelled include:

Ben Tatman from The Ferrers School secured his place at Cambridge University to read Natural Sciences with A* (Maths) A* (Further Maths) A* (Chemistry) A (Biology) A (Physics) A (General Studies)

Jack Terry from Huxlow Science College gained A* in Physics, A* (Mathematics) A* (Further Maths) A* (Chemistry) and A* (Biology) and will be going to Nottingham to study Chemistry with a Year in Industry.

Sophie Brawn from Rushden Academy who was awarded A* (Maths) A* (Further Maths) B (Physics) B (Chemistry) and will be studying Mathematics at Cambridge University.

In addition, The Ferrers School students Ellie Nelson-Coles gained A* (Maths) A (Further Maths) A (Physics) B (French) C (General Studies) and goes to Bristol University to study Engineering Design Amy Wrisdale A (Maths) A (Biology) A (Chemistry) C (Geography) C (General Studies) will go to Leicester University to read Geology and Luke Sanford A* (Maths) A (Further Maths) A (Physics) C (General Studies) is going to Southampton University to study Electrical Engineering

Other Huxlow Science College student success includes Rosemary Osborne who achieved A* Chemistry, A Maths, A Physics and has deferred her entry to Warwick to study Chemistry, Sara McGuire who achieved B (English Language) A (History), B (Psychology) and is going to York to study Psychology and Michaela O’Callaghan who achieved B (Chemistry) A* (English Literature) A* (History) and is going to study English at Birmingham.

Rushden Academy student James Crozier achieved A* (Geography) A* (Law) B (Applied Science) is going to Manchester University to study International Disaster Management . Chloe Griffiths is going to Oxford Brookes University to study Law, achieving A (English Lang Lit) B (Law) B (Sociology) B (Extended Project) and Warren Sauterelle achieved A (Drama) A (Law) and BTEC Distinction stars in Performing Arts has found out today that he has been awarded one of the few full bursary places at the outstanding Arts Educational School in Chiswick to study acting

Consortium students achieved some outstanding BTEC results and a record number of students were awarded grades at the highest level possible level - triple distinction star. These included : Kali Bishop in Health and Care, Saffron Jarvis, Kieran Burge, Jake Butlin, Bayes Day, Ryan Parker and Jessica Fargher in Sport and Lucy Jamieson in Performing Arts.
