10th December 2020
School will be open for year 7 to 11 on Friday 18th December, please refer to the timings in the bulletin for staggered finishes.
The DFE has asked that all parents and carers are aware of the following information and relevant arrangements regarding positive cases in the holidays:
- Where a pupil tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school, the school should not be contacted. Parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace
- For the first 6 days after teaching ends, if a pupil tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), having developed symptoms within 48 hours of being in school, the school is asked to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school. So in this instance please contact the school
- School staff are not asked to remain on-call or conduct any contact tracing more than 6 days after the final day of teaching. There should be no pupil contact tracing beyond Thursday 24th December
This email account will be checked daily up until 24th December. We ask that where there is no impact on staff and children at Rushden Academy, parents engage with NHS Track and Trace.
Thank you so much for all of your continued support during what has been, a year like no other.
We wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas.
Mrs J Burton
