Good afternoon

A week today the prospective catering companies will be delivering their sales pitch to a selection panel and we will be making a very important decision for the team. Some of our pupils will be sampling the food on offer and giving their opinions. The successful company will officially start in February 2019. Please share you views with us by completing a quick questionnaire https://goo.gl/forms/MGQwxnH05JZOpIMI2 Today the Northamptonshire County Council Environment Health Officer visited the kitchen and gave it the top rating of 5 stars, our Kitchen staff are highly experienced and deserve this top accolade.

We are also busy tendering for our internal ICT infrastructure to improve the speed and efficiency of our communication systems. We are determined, in absolutely every way, to make this the best school we can for everyone.

Yesterday the mock exam seating plans were displayed for y11, they start their mock exams in 5 working days on 10th December. They will need to follow all the exam officer’s advice and treat these exams as though they were the real thing. An email will be coming out shortly giving you information about all the subjects that they are studying. I am pleased that Year 11 pupils are attending period 6s and making great progress in many of their subjects. I have been so impressed with their photography coursework in particular, such progress in a short length of time.

The sixth formers have now got their brand new kitchen installed, the challenge will be to keep it looking pristine! I would like to take the opportunity to say the sixth formers are wearing their lanyards consistently now, the new signing in and out seems to be highly successful.

We have also invested in greater security systems around school, I like to think that our Team are respectful and hold the same Team Rushden values as everyone else. On the whole they absolutely do, but some do get it wrong at times, I am pleased to say that we have excellent systems in place. There are always consequences to actions and we aim to be fair and transparent throughout. If you ever have any concerns please do contact the school so that we can work together.

I just want to finish with a thank you to the PTFA for running the Beetle Drive they managed to donate £250 to support the performing arts team with the set for their next production. Every school in the Country is seeing their funding stretched, it’s tough and so these generous gestures and your support really, really helps. THANK YOU.
