What a busy week, what a fantastic week, so incredibly proud of Team Rushden’s acheivements this week!

On Tuesday we had Year 10 sixth form taster day to give our Year 10’s an opportunity to see what new subjects are available along with other opportunities across TENC. The results in the sixth form are very good. We are ranked 3rd in the whole of Northamptonshire, so why wouldn’t they chose us?

Learning for Life day on Wednesday was busy with 42 business people visiting us and sharing information about potential careers. Our students fully embraced the advice being offered by all the companies, armed forces and businesses present. All our visitors were so complimentary about our pupils, they unanimously said our pupils were so well mannered, asked pertinent questions and were incredibly helpful. It is lovely to have such feedback which of course will be fed back to our students in their Head of Year briefing. There will be plenty of photos to see in this addition of the bulletin.

Continuing with the topic of positive feedback I also received feedback from Huxlow this week following a visit and performance from our performing arts pupils which they delivered with astounding aplomb. He couldn’t wait to get and the phone our school and praise the performing arts team and the pupils … the comment he used was “mind-blowingly superb”!! This is testament to the incredible hard work and dedication by the entire team which will be on show once more during our end of year performance of Grease. I do hope you have booked your Grease tickets, it’s not to be missed!

On Wednesday evening we had our Year 11 prom, which left me absolutely speechless about the whole event! The pupils were a huge credit to you and the school, they looked absolutely stunning. There are just not enough adjectives to describe how they looked and conducted themselves, so very, very proud of them all and we literally had a ball together! Miss Neville did a cracking job and I am really quite sad to have to say goodbye to this year group as they have been a real credit to the Academy. I just hope that each and every one achieves the results they need for their next step. Gosh, we will miss them but we are absolutely delighted that so many have opted to stay on into the 6th Form as part of TENC.

Sport’s day on Thursday was excellent once again, such a hot one and unbelievably 4 school records smashed. I am sure you will see photos later in this addition. A big thank you must be mentioned to Mr Brainwood for organizing such a wonderful day and all the staff that supported him. Once again, our pupils were amazing and our new staff to the school were blown away by their first experience of Team Rushden’s Sports Day.

Year 6 into 7 transition days are today and Monday, we welcome more pupils and their families to Team Rushden. Lots of work has gone into these couple of days and I am sure they will be a big success for Mrs Finney and Miss Neville as she picks up a new year group.

We continue to expect high standards of behavior at all times and never lower our standards, we live and breathe our Team Rushden standards always. There are clear uniform expectations, grey checked skirts not black and school trousers not jeans. Please support us to deliver the best by ensuring these expectations are continuously met. Blazers can be left at home in this weather! On the last day 20th July, we will be finishing at 2pm.

Have a lovely (hot) weekend, is football coming home?!
