Today we say goodbye to year 11, they have been a fantastic year group and will be missed. We wish them every success as they move upwards and onwards, but before they do we still have to a couple of events like the last few GCSEs to sit for some, the prom, which is always stunning and of course results day on the 23rd August. Incidentally, we would really appreciate receiving back any revision guides, any text books or library books and any donations of school ties.

Year 10 are busy preparing for their end of year exams that start next week, a useful tool is GCSE pod and they should be accessing this along with other revision material. Year 10 have made good progress this year and are really stepping up to the demands of their challenging GCSEs. We are also preparing for the y10 enterprise event where they will have an opportunity to seek out information and guidance about certain jobs/careers. If you think you could offer some careers advice and have ideas to share please do get in touch with Mr Brotherston.

I am pleased to announce the following

              HEAD BOY – JAMES WAREING

DEPUTY HEAD BOY – TOM CASWELL

              HEAD GIRL – PAIGE HUMPHRISS

DEPUTY HEAD GIRL – CHELSEA CHAPMAN

My goodness the process was demanding and the students were fantastic throughout. We will be setting up a prefect leadership team and they will be making whole school decisions and leading on important matters.

We are pleased to announce that Mrs Hazelton has had a healthy 6lb and 4oz baby boy and they are calling him James. Team Rushden wish the Hazelton family well.

This week Mr Billam joined Team Rushden as an Assistant Principal and a Math’s specialist, a brilliant addition to the team. He is already busy finalising next year’s timetable and preparing us well for the new academic year. If you are considering a career change and are interested in working in a school, please contact us. We are looking to recruit cover supervisors / teaching assistants and/or potential trainee teachers. There is such a shortage nationally and we need to attract really good staff for our next generation. We have an outstanding nursery on site that opens term time only and we pride ourselves with the professional development opportunities here. It is a great career, very rewarding and the pupils in Team Rushden are really well behaved.

Just checking that you have booked your Grease tickets, rehearsals are underway and the pupils and staff are determined to make this another top show.

Thank you for reading and enjoy your weekend.
