Two weeks to go until we finish for the October half term break, it has flown and there is still much to do. This term is always crucial, in settling pupils and really cracking on with teaching high quality lessons and pupils learning well. It sets the tone for the year and we expect this year to be a highly successful year for Team Rushden.

These next few days are going to be extremely busy for the school; we are embarking on our learning for life days which aim to cover many of the important Team Rushden values and the personal, social, health and wellbeing issues that are so important for our pupils. Tomorrow is the first of several days planned throughout the year to cover many issues.

Monday is our Year 6 Open Evening from 6.30 until 8.30pm; many of our current pupils will be showcasing what Team Rushden have achieved this year and will be supporting teachers in all curriculum areas. I am looking forward to hearing our Head Girl, Connie and Deputy Head Boy, Thuso talk about their experience at Rushden Academy. We are also in for a treat, pupils have already been cast for parts in the new production Grease and have already been rehearsing, so on Monday evening we will be getting a taste of what’s to come. I have no doubt that it will be first class.

Next week Year 11 will be bringing home reports, and the following week Year 10 reports will be issued. We have changed the reports to make them easier to follow, the progress made towards their target grades should be obvious. In fact we are keen to gauge your opinion on these reports and would value your input so that we can continue to improve, we will be asking you to complete a quick questionnaire following the issuing of reports.

I am looking forward to sharing with you the recent Ofsted monitoring report, as soon as I get the go ahead from Ofsted I will inform you that it is on the website by text.

Once again enjoy your weekend and thank you for your continued support. Remember that you are always welcome to visit our school, and see what it is typically like on a day to day basis. We are very proud of our pupils and what Team Rushden are achieving.
